People Who Care

More than an event name, people who care is the heart of Transitions. For more than 30 years, Transitions has helped women and children in Spokane move toward safety, stability, and hope through compassionate, trauma informed care. We are honored to have walked alongside those women and helpers, uplifting their powerful and transformative stories since 2018. Our latest piece, above, played at the 2025 People Who Care event. If you can attend, it is truly a packed room of community-minded folks working together for chat.

10+ years of Partnership

Our relationship began in 2014, with Rogue Heart photography People Who Care pro-bono. We’ve continued that trend, and Rogue Heart has donated more than $25,000 in in-kind services since 2018. Every year, our team also serves as table captains and holiday gift sponsors for a local family.

Thank you, Transitions, for all that you do, all that you are, and for the privilege of storytelling with your amazing team.🧡

2024: Aretha's Story

It was an honor to film Aretha’s story as the feature video for 2024’s People Who Care event. Aretha is an alumna of Transitions programs and now leads a program as Transitions employee. The heart of Transitions’ work is captured by this quote from the late Ted Munat: “We’re not assigning human dignity – we know that they’re brimming with it.”

2023: Kebby's Story

We loved creating a promo video for Transitions’ Mardi Bras event: Throw a Party, make a difference! And we also cherished our time with Kebby, capturing her story to share at the organization’s annual fundraiser.

2022: The Story of New Leaf

Our video collaboration for 2022 was to capture the opening of the Central Library’s New Leaf Cafe, a Transitions’ cafe and barrista job-training program. It was amazing to see the community come out for the opening and to catch up with Transitions’ alums becoming managers at New Leaf.

2021: Women's Hearth Anniversary

We feel such gratitude to witness, capture, and share stories of such magnitude and to see the strength of community and the power of self-determination. After filming, it thrilled us to hear that our work did justice to the people and legacy of Transitions.

2020: Miriah's Story

May we all find the courage to grow through self-determination and the giving and receiving of dignity, love, and support. That is the kind of transformative power found through the support of Transitions, and what we witnessed in capturing Miriah’s story.

2019: Education & Care

Our 2019 video captures the support the Transitions’ EduCare program offers to moms leaving homelessness and their children. The love and care is present in each team member’s interactions as this program offers low-cost care to families in Spokane.

2018: People Who Care

Our first People Who Care feature event video captured the story of the Home Yard Cottages! As one speaker says at the start of the video: “[Transitions’] vision was to end homelessness for the women and children of Spokane.”
